- Carlos' Declassified College Survival Guide 10/18/2022 Having been the first in my immediate family to graduate from a 4-year University (5-year in my case, let's just say I took a 1-year victory lap), I realized there are a lot of unwritten rules & tips to succeed that you will not know unless you have family, friends, or mentors who have already completed their college careers. So, in the spirit of Latino Heritage Month and my little brother starting his freshmen year, I have decided to write up some of my learnings to help other 1st Generation Latines.
- Year 1 As A Data Engineer: What I Learned 08/20/2022 In my mind, there was some open source software that all companies used to pipe data from one area to another. I thought absolutely everything was done in Airflow and Spark. I'll tell you now, besides a very short stint with Airflow, I do not use either of these tools today. Turns out the Data Engineering space is vibrant and has an insane amount of offerings for tools.
- Rome Wasn't Built In a Day: But This Website Was 06/03/2022 When I first built out my personal website during my undergrad in January 2018, I took the course most students in tech take and used a free template from HTML5 UP. Specifically, I used the Dimension template and it was great. It served its purpose for an undergrad student with limited experience with HTML/CSS that was looking for internships.
